For the first time in over 100 years, the six Merchant’s House Boutique Bed & Breakfast Suites now provide an opportunity for a select few visitors to Corfu to stay in the island’s oldest and best-loved village in a Category ‘A’ 4 star accommodation, awarded by EOT (The Hellenic Tourist Organization).

First recorded in the 14th century, The ancient and timeless village of Old Perithia is a protected heritage site. “An historic settlement consisting of 130 houses of Venetian architecture together with a significant number of important churches decorated with frescoes, all being surrounded by a landscape of outstanding natural beauty."

Approximately 1 hours drive from Corfu town, Old Perithia is the oldest village on the island, this ancient settlement is hidden from the sea, nestling just below the island’s highest mountain, Mount Pantokrator.

Old Perithia’s location, protected architecture and tradition, has ensured that it holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike, as well as walkers, painters and those individuals who wish to stay amidst Corfu’s living history, to find tranquility, fresh mountain air, charming countryside, exquisite flora and fauna, and locally sourced traditional Corfiot dishes.
