Booking your stay at The Merchant’s House

The Merchant’s House is open from 23rd March 2012 and then closes mid November, and reopens in the last week of March each year. The houses can be booked through the winter (late November to the end of January) but only by special arrangement.

The Merchant’s House offers the following booking options for your stay:

Suite Options

• The Merchant’s House offer 6 suites. no.’s 1 is a double with single sofabed (max 3 persons), no.’s 2 and 3 offer a double with 2 sofabeds (max 4 persons), no.’s 4 and 5 a double with single sofabed (max 3 persons) and no. 6 is a twin (max 2 persons). Each has their own entrance with suites 1, 2 and 3 being above, with 4, 5 and 6 below. For more detailed information click here

Minimum Stay

• A minimum 7-night booking applies during peak times (July & August.)
• A 3-day-weekend booking (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) or a 4-day-week booking (Monday to Thursday) is available during spring & summer (March, April, May, June & September) and during winter (from October to November inclusive).

3+4 day Town and Country Combination

• Why not try the ‘Town and Country’ combination, spend a few days in Corfu town soaking up the culture at one of our select Boutique Hotels followed, or preceded by, a few days in the heart of the countryside at The Merchant’s House in Corfu’s oldest village. Available throughout April, May, June, Oct & Nov with three days in town and 4 days in Old Perithia. Please enquire for full details, rates and availability.

Prices

• Prices start from €105 per night, and are for each suite based on up to 2 people sharing and the price includes breakfast and all local taxes. Single occupancy (when available) is at the same room rate but excludes 1 breakfast (€12,50) per day.
• The Merchant’s House suites are for up to 2 adults, but some have additional sofa beds in the suites for children aged between 5 -15 years. An additional supplement of €35pp (including breakfast and taxes) applies to each additional guest. No pets are allowed.

Supplements

• There is a €25pp supplement during the EASTER PERIOD (09.4.12 - 16.4.12) and for 3 days either side of both ‘The Procession in Old Perithia’ (The last Sunday in July), and also ‘The Configuration of Pantokrator’ (1st week of August).

Check in

• Check in on arrival is from 2pm. Check out is by 11am on the day of departure.

Payment terms

• All bookings to be paid in full in advance (see also cancellation terms and conditions below).

Cancellations

• A provisional booking may be made by phone or email and will be held for 5 days pending receipt of a completed booking form accompanied by the payment in full.
• For 7 nights or more a 50% cancellation fee applies from 8 weeks prior to your booking date and is only refundable if the property is re-let for the same period.
• For 3 or 4-day bookings the 50% cancellation fee applies from 3 weeks prior to your booking date and is only refundable if the property is re-let for the same period. Bookings made within 3 weeks of the booking dates cannot be refunded.

Booking Terms

We prefer to handle reservations personally, so do not use a computerized booking system. A provisional booking may be made by phone or email and will be held for 5 days pending receipt of a completed booking form, accompanied by the full payment.

Air Conditioning

Payment for the use of air conditioning can be done at the time of booking, or paid on arrival at The Merchant’s House.

If for any reason, beyond our control, the property is not available on the date booked, all charges paid in advance will be refundable in full. In this case, there shall be no further claim against the owners either for the booking or any associated costs as a result of the cancellation.

Deposit

Guests must leave the property clean and in good order and will be responsible for any breakages or damage. A deposit of €250 is taken on arrival and returned on departure, however, the owner shall be entitled to charge for the cost of remedying any damage or breach of the above obligations.

Every effort will be made to ensure the standard described for the property and all items of equipment described and supplied by the owners are in good working order. However, no guarantee is given nor liability accepted if any breakdown occurs, changes are made to the amenities, or any item is temporarily unavailable. Repairs will always be effected as soon as possible.

Domestic pets are not allowed within the boundary of the property. No smoking in any part of the suites.

The owners, their employees and agents shall not be liable to any person for any personal injury, loss of, or damage to property, however caused or sustained.
